Doctor’s Comment:

Sunlight contains UVA and UVB, where UVA is the energy which causes freckles and aging on the skin. SPF only tells how strong a sunscreen is against UVB, it does not tell you how strong it is against the skin-aging UVA. The best substance to block UVA remains to be Zinc Oxide. At 2% with Titanium Dioxide it has moderate UVA protection. Microfine treatment of Zinc Oxide makes them look transparent.

Even with Zinc Oxide, short duration sunscreens only last 1/2 hour under very strong sunlight. Waterproof/long duration sunscreen can in general last up to 4-5 hours under very strong sunlight.
Advanced Comments:

Zinc Oxide and Mexoryl can protect the whole spectrum of wavelengths given by UVA, while Titanium Oxide/Dioxide does not have total wavelengths protection. Mexoryl is a chemical sunscreen where the sunlight oxidizes it instead of the skin, so it can be used up. Zinc oxide is a barrier sunscreen where it blocks UVA.

I normally would not recommend a sunscreen like this with only 2% Zinc Oxide. But it is a lesser of two evils if one uses Titanium only sunscreens (because they are not so sticky). In fact, many commercial sunscreens do not offer true protection, with only Titanium as their single active ingredient because they have to cater for the taste (less sticky) and affordability (cheaper) of the general public. This is especially true in countries (like Hong Kong) where there is no restriction in labeling cosmetics.

As sun protection and antiaging is a lifelong process, a stronger sunscreen always offers better protection. However if you run into trouble with acne, milia, or simply think a strong sunscreen is too sticky, this formula is the choice for you. At 2% Zinc Oxide it is non sticky, with 8.4% Titanium making up for some of its protective power. In my opinion this is a ‘if you must’ formula that many people would end up using for its light feeling. I would not recommend any other formula lighter than this.

I don't like sticky feeling. This sunblock is ok to me but not protect enough if in summer time.
